The SHA Team structure



Our Team

SHA personnel are professionally qualified, competent and experienced, with a proven track record of excellence in their field. All have been managerially inducted into the company, and are professionally supervised to meet our framework of high quality standards, policies and procedures, as well as client performance targets.



SHA's Management Team

NICK STONE, M.A., DipCOT., M.o.I.D - Director

I qualified as an occupational therapist in 1985 and hold a Masters Degree in Social policy and Social research.

An ex Principal O.T. Manager for Social Services, I have led many SHA consultancy projects including professional mentoring for Norfolk County Council; developed a system for assessing accommodation needs for disabled students at London Metropolitan University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have managed the Appeals Clinic for Brent Council's Blue Badge scheme; Housing Transfer Appeals for various Housing Associations, and developed a new sheltered housing assessment tool for Wrexham Council.

I now direct SHA business full time. I am a full member of the Institute of Directors.

 


DAVID RENSHAW, MIC. BA Hons - Business Manager

I combine a past history of Chairman of a mixed manufacturing and service group, with ten years advising government, specifically the Departments of Environment and National Heritage. I have a unique knowledge of the tender and contractual process which allows SHA to approach new contracts with considerable confidence.

I have worked with SHA since 1999, initially as a business mentor and now advise the Director on strategy, new business and contract matters.

I frequently represent SHA at client contract meetings.



JILL RYDER, FMAAT - Financial Controller

I have worked with SHA since 2000. As part of the SHA Management team, I attend monthly meetings where I present detailed management accounts to the Director and Business Manager alongside reviewing and forecasting of the Company's cash flow, on-going analysis of contract profitability and budget reporting for SHA clients. I lead SHA's finance team.

Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) since 1987, holding the highest status - FMAAT.

 






Our Administration Centre

SHA's modern, central and secure office base is staffed by four administrators.

- Reports word processed and either uploaded directly by SHA onto clients' systems or emailed (password protected) within target deadlines.

- Databases updated and emailed to clients regularly.

- Out of hours answer-phone, email and faxing

- Clients have direct email contact with Occupational Therapists

PHIL CHIZA

I qualified in 2002, and have extensive experience in Health and Local Government services, Housing Associations and the Private Sector.

I joined SHA in 2010 and have completed assessments and reviews for the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Enfield. Currently, I undertake mobility assessments for SHA's Hackney and Tower Hamlets contracts.



ANNE CRELLIN

I qualified in 1988 and since 1993 have worked exclusively in Local Authority settings. Have been with SHA since 2009 carrying out general OT/OTA assessments for Thurrock Council and Mobility assessments for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

After a break for maternity leave I returned in February 2012 on our Surrey contract completing basic and complex OT and OTA general assessments.


MAUREEN GALLOCKER

I joined SHA in 1997 as project manager for a very large contract where SHA successfully cleared 1000 cases from a waiting list to enable the Local Authority to restructure their services and respond promptly to service users requesting an assessment.

In recent years the type of intervention has changed with the introduction of the Personalisation Agenda, and I have worked closely with service users to achieve their goals and aspirations. Currently run Mobility Clinics in two London Boroughs. I also provide induction and mentoring to new SHA OTs, delivering formal and informal supervision and guidance.

JANE GOODYEAR

I qualified in 1976 and have worked for over 35 years within Social Care and Health.

Joined SHA in 2003 and have worked on a variety of contracts across the UK. In my role as an OT with SHA, I have completed OT assessments for all client groups within both social housing and in the private sector. I also complete mobility assessments.



SHONA GORMLEY

I qualified in 1980 and have worked for approximately 30 years within Social Care and Housing Services.

Joined SHA in 1997 and have worked on a variety of contracts, across the UK. In my role as a Senior OT with SHA, I have completed OT assessments, and made appropriate recommendations for equipment/ minor and major adaptations for service users living in both Social Housing and in the Private Sector. I have also been the contract lead on a number of these contracts.

Over the last 6 years, my SHA work has, in the main, been providing mobility assessments tor several local authorities assessing to determine eligibility for concessionary travel schemes.

CAROL KLEIN

I qualified in 1992 and joined SHA at its inception.

I have extensive experience working in Social Services completing needs led assessments in line with Fair Access to Care Services and making recommendations for all areas of equipment minor/ major and all types of adaptations minor & major to meet service users' needs; inputting assessments onto live systems including IAS and Care First; ordering equipment direct on TCES systems including operating in prescription service.

I lead SHA's Islington contract and also work on our Hackney and Bromley contracts. I also have mobility assessment experience with SHA.

STEVE KNIGHT

I qualified in 1997 and have since worked in Social Care. I work as a consultant practitioner, being involved in policy advice, promoting good practice and development of new initiatives within Essex. I am also a subject matter expert in Assistive Technology solutions.

I have worked for SHA since 2002, being involved with eight contracts which have included effectively assessing and recommending equipment and adaptations to enable people to remain living in their own homes and mobility clinics to assess for blue badges, freedom passes and taxi-card schemes. I have also been undertaking reviews for double handed care packages, risk assessing, reviewing reablement potential and the correct use of equipment in situ.





DOMENICA RUSSO

I qualified in 1998 and joined SHA in 2013.

Experience/Areas of expertise - Facilitating discharges from Accident and Emergency; In patient and Community Rehabilitation; Reablement; Moving and Handling; Double Handed Care (DHC) reviews; Mobility Assessments; community assessments for aids and adaptations; training development and provision for rehabilitation support workers and enablement carers; education of parents with learning difficulties in child health and safety; Researcher for return to work and Education projects for parents with learning difficulties; Conference presenter and Author of research based journal articles.

My SHA work includes a Double Handed Care review project for the London Borough of Waltham Forest and I am currently working on the London Borough of Hackney's DHC review project.


EMMA SCOTHERN

I qualified in 2003 and started working for SHA in 2013. I complete Mobility Assessments in Havering.



CELIA TALAMO

I qualified in 1986 and have extensive experience working in a variety of health, social care and independent settings. My main skill set is housing adaptation work and equipment provision. I have considerable experience of children and adult adaptations, rehousing, moving & handling & postural seating as well as general local authority type work. I currently work with the SHA team on the Buckinghamshire County Council contract.


TRACEY DUNSDON

I qualified in 2013 and my Social Services experience covers comprehensive home assessments, equipment provision, minor and major adaptations alongside moving & handling.

I joined SHA in 2014 to work on our Surrey contract completing basic and complex OT and OTA general assessments.
 

 









ALLISON PINDER

I qualified in 1989 and I have mostly worked for Local Authorities in South East England.
I have extensive experience in housing adaptations and specialist equipment for children and adults with disabilities; rehousing assessments for local authorities and housing associations; decent homes work and new build wheelchair accessible property design for public and private sector.

I joined SHA in November 2015 and I am currently working on the Surrey Contract.




SARAH MALCOLM

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1997 and joined SHA in 2016. I have worked in both the NHS & Social Services..
The majority of my work has been in Social Services where I have gained extensive knowledge of conducting holistic & comprehensive assessments to identify appropriate adaptations & solutions to meet the needs of clients with long term enduring illnesses & disabilities through the DFG process, equipment provision, moving & handling assessments & housing reports.

I am working on the SHA Surrey contract.




MICHELLE CLIFFORD-BROWN

I qualified in 1995 and have a broad range of experience from working in hospital and community rehabilitative settings with both adults and children.
This includes orthopaedics, neurology, chronic pain management and intermediate care/hospital discharge. I currently work in an educational setting, with children and young people who have complex physical and learning disabilities.

I joined SHA in 2016 to work on the Surrey contract.
